Residency Overview

CHINO BASE AIR welcomes applications throughout the year from artists, researchers, and creators seeking time for creative work, research, and quiet retreat in rural Japan.

Residency periods are generally one to two months.

Facilities

The residency house is fully furnished and equipped with Wi-Fi, appliances, and essential living facilities.

Three private bedrooms
Shared kitchen, shower, toilet, and living spaces
Spacious garden with a mikan tree
Two electric bicycle available for residents
Lumen Field Gallery available as a shared studio space during the residency

Food, transportation, and art materials are not included.

Presentation Opportunities

Toward the end of the residency, residents may host an open studio presentation at Lumen Field Gallery.

As an optional add-on, residents may also use our partner gallery in central Kyoto for exhibitions or events (additional fee).
