滋賀県、琵琶湖の西、比良山系・比叡山の麓に位置する千野は、標高170m、人口350名ほどの小さな集落です。
比叡の森と竹林に囲まれたこの地は、約1,100年の歴史と伝統をもつ静かで美しい里。また、比叡山延暦寺中興の祖・元三大師（慈恵大師）良源のご母堂、月子姫の墓所があることでも知られています。
〈千野ベース〉は、この里に残る古民家を人の手と自然の力で再生した、アートとクラフトの複合文化拠点。千野の歴史と風土を大切に受け継ぎながら、ものづくりや創造的な活動を通して、自然と人が響きあう新しいかたちを育んでいます。

CHINO BASE is an artist-in-residence and cultural space in the small village of Chino, nestled between the sacred Mount Hiei and Lake Biwa—the largest lake in Japan.
Surrounded by forests and bamboo groves, this quiet community of about 350 people has over a thousand years of history and spiritual heritage.

Housed in a gently restored farmhouse, CHINO BASE invites artists and makers to live and create alongside local craftspeople and neighbors.
Here, creativity grows naturally through exchange, collaboration, and the peaceful energy of the land.
